Berlin-born Hakon X, often called the “Exorcist Bassist,” brings a magnetic energy to Visual Symphonia. Since joining in 2023, his 5-string bass has been a key part of our sound, but it’s his presence — both on stage and behind the scenes — that really sets him apart. His stage look is as striking as his playing, and the way he moves between deep, walking basslines and intricate classical or raga-inspired melodies gives our music its own kind of life.

Hakon’s not just our bassist, though — he’s also our producer, sound designer, and videographer, shaping the way we sound and look with his creative vision. His background in visual art brings the same intensity and depth to our visuals as it does to his bass playing.

When he’s not working on the band, Hakon’s still exploring new ideas, whether he’s writing poetry, making films, or cycling. His friends call him a Renaissance man for good reason. And when he’s gliding through the air in his sailplane, it’s clear he’s always seeking a fresh perspective — something you can hear in the way he approaches our music.

Hakon’s ability to blend bass traditions from different genres adds so much to our sound. He’s also got a great ear for harmony, lending his voice to backing vocals and adding another layer to what we create together.
