Mark Ray (Louder Than War) on Communion

Communion (Album)

It was fantastic to see talented local artist Patrick Samuel perform ‘Phantasm’, his interpretation of David Bowie’s Labyrinth, at the Culture Palace in Enfield Town. It was an incredibly enjoyable and absorbing show. Well done Patrick!

“Patrick performed a mixture of his own songs and David Bowie tracks including “Underground” and “Magic Dance.” Patrick uses his emotion and artistic talents to add drama and mystery to his performances. It was truly and enjoyable show and everyone left feeling inspired and energised!”

“A fabulous evening at Spellbound celebrating music and art. Such a successful and unique show and inspiring us.”

Hannah Dyson, Enfield Matters

“‘Tomorrow Today’ boasts its own brand of catchiness, tranquil as it seems on the surface. Patrick’s voice is soothing: he has a mature ear and a good sense of dynamics. His ability to play multiple instruments is also impressive.

“Patrick’s eclectic music has typically focused on his struggles with autism, but with ‘Communion’ he says he felt compelled to tackle some of the big political issues affecting the world, as well as the pandemic.”

“Unlike Patrick’s previous efforts, the album is overtly political, opening with the desperate cries of “I can’t breathe” that rallied people against racist police violence last summer.”

James Cracknell, Enfield Dispatch

On the album, Patrick plays a total of eight instruments including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, flute and violin. His songs explore his experience with autism through a hybrid of electronica and post-punk.
